Same invoice, two exchange rates

A invoices in USD; B's books are in EUR. A translates at the booking-date rate, B at the payment-date rate. The balances differ by a few hundred euros with no underlying dispute.

What the agent does

  1. Identify the currency of the invoice and the functional currency of each entity
  2. Pull the rates each side used from the ledger postings and compare with the group policy table
  3. Recompute the balance at the policy rate and isolate the FX component
  4. Draft the FX revaluation or the policy-rate adjustment

What you get back

The difference is split into 'FX translation — 310.50 EUR' and 'remaining — 0.00', with both rates cited and the adjusting entry drafted.

FX split

INV-0552USD 30,000.00A @ 0.9000 = EUR 27,000.00B @ 0.9104 = EUR 27,310.50Diff 310.50 = FX only. Policy rate (month-end) 0.9070 → both to 27,210.00; draft JE #3
