Withholding tax deducted at source

A cross-border service fee is paid net of 10% withholding; the payer has the tax certificate, the recipient still shows the gross receivable.

What the agent does

  1. Identify the 10% gap between invoice and receipt
  2. Locate the withholding certificate in the documents
  3. Classify as WHT; draft the entry recognising the tax credit on the recipient's side and attach the certificate reference

What you get back

Receivable cleared; WHT recognised with the certificate number cited; a note for the tax team.

Boundaries

Whether the tax is creditable is a tax-team question; the agent records the fact and the document.
